Natasha Walth with AFC Founder Justin Pasquariello

I consider myself blessed. I grew up in a home with adults who were able to take care of me and my siblings. But, I learned early on that every child is not so lucky. My parents became foster parents when I was in elementary school. They opened our home, and my eyes, to children who did not come from the best situations. To this day, my parents continue to be foster parents. I am forever grateful that they made me aware of the needs of these youth. I am even more thankful for my two sisters whom we adopted from foster care.

This is why I am passionate about supporting the needs of youth in foster care. I have seen children moved from home to home, never having a place that can be called their own. Can you imagine never knowing where you will be sleeping, having to switch schools multiple times in a single year, and not having consistent relationships with trusted adults? My passion to help youth in care grows everyday. I am excited to serve on AFC’s 2014 Board of Ambassadors and am looking forward to serving as the Chair of the 2015 Board of Ambassadors.

AFC’s Board of Ambassadors is a group of young professionals who, like me, want to make a difference in the lives of the nearly 9,000 youth in MA foster care. Together, we can make an impact by raising awareness and resources for AFC as they grow and serve more youth in care. 2015 is sure to be an exciting year for the AFC Board of Ambassadors. If you, or a young professional you know, are interested in joining the 2015 Board of Ambassadors, please complete this application and email it to brenna@afcmentoring.net by Monday, December 5th.
