Boston, MA – Silver Lining Mentoring, a non-profit whose mission is to empower youth in foster care to thrive through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills, is excited to announce that they have named Anne Bowie as their new Chair of the Board of Directors.

Bowie is the Public Service Manager at WilmerHale, a full-service, international law firm. Since 2005, Bowie has directed WilmerHale’s philanthropy and public service programs, through which the firm supports the legal aid community and engages hundreds of attorneys and staff in pro bono legal service, tutoring, mentoring, mock trials, college application and career workshops, food and clothing drives, and many other volunteer activities each year.

Bowie has been a member of the Silver Lining Mentoring’s Board of Directors for six years and is a resident of Dorchester, MA.
On being named Board Chair, Bowie said, “I am incredibly proud to serve as Chair of Silvering Lining Mentoring. As a clinically trained social worker, I know how impactful Silver Lining Mentoring’s model is in helping youth in foster care thrive. We look forward to continuing our notable mentoring matching that last six times longer than the national average and our adept innovative programs geared to best serve the area’s most vulnerable young people.”

Founded in 2001, Silver Lining Mentoring empowers youth in foster care to thrive through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. Silver Lining Mentoring is the only mentoring organization in Massachusetts and one of only a few nationwide, that exclusively serves youth in foster care. SLM provides targeted, specialized mentoring services and life skills training for young people who have been impacted by the foster care system.
