Thank you to everyone who joined us for a night of celebration, joy and connection during our 2023 Match Gala! Over 250 Silver Lining Mentoring supporters celebrated with us at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama and helped us raise over $500,000 for Silver Lining Mentoring’s programs in support of young people in foster care.

Being together after four years apart felt so special, having had virtual Match celebrations the past three years. Here’s a recap of what was seen and heard during our time at Match!

-We heard from Armani and his mentor, Andrew, and Shaneal and her mentor, Monique, about their Silver Lining Mentoring experience.

-We shared a special video produced in collaboration with The Shultz Family Foundation that highlighted mentee Borias and mentor Paul’s special journey of friendship.

-We announced the inception of the Silver Lining Mentoring Lived Experience Fellowship with Jarrett Harper, an advocate for foster care and criminal justice reform with lived experience in care. The Fellowship offers a new dimension to how we advance our mission.

“We’re so proud of and grateful to the many young people and mentors who took part in the celebration. After four years apart, it was especially powerful to come together to stand with youth in foster care.” – Colby Swettberg, CEO

We’re thrilled that this night filled with joy will ultimately help us continue to support youth in foster care through building and sustaining trusted caring adult volunteer mentor relationships. Thank you for investing in our work. We hope to see you for MATCH 2024!

And in the meantime, we are continuing to seek volunteer mentors to connect with youth in our programs. If you know of anyone in Greater Boston who is interested in learning more, please connect them to our on-demand info session and volunteer training information.
