On July 26th, Silver Lining mentees, mentors, and staff gathered at Skyline Park in Brookline for an afternoon of connection and fun & games for our annual Community Day—a chance for matches to chill out, play games, and learn about and connect with each other.
Silver Lining mentee Xavier said, “One of my favorite memories from Community Day was climbing the monkey bars and hanging upside down with my mentor.” Just check them out both dangling below, among many highlights from the day.
Xavier’s mentor, Ashley, shared her favorite memory: “It was when we saw an older mentee and mentor playing frisbee and I turned to Xavier and asked if he thinks he’ll still want to be hanging out with me and do these kinds of activities when he’s as old as the mentee we saw. He immediately turned to me with a beaming smile and said, ‘Of course.’ And I let him know that, regardless of physical location in the years to come, that I’ll be a part of his life for as long as he wants me to be.”
