In December of 2013, Adoption & Foster Care Mentoring (AFC) was honored to be chosen as one of the first grantees of The Philanthropy Connection, a women’s collective giving organization based in Massachusetts, one of five among over one hundred fifty applicants.

Over the past year, AFC has enjoyed creating a relationship with The Philanthropy Connection. Our relationship with The Philanthropy Connection has not only helped us to match more youth in foster care with long-term, committed mentors, but also to continue our strategic goal of sustaining a thriving organization by developing the talent and resources necessary to fulfill our programmatic goals. In part through the relationship formed with The Philanthropy Connection, AFC continues to engage a group of committed leaders who help build and diversify a network of support.

AFC’s Executive Director Colby Swettberg was quoted in an article about The Philanthropy Connection in the Sunday, October 27, 2014 issue of the Globe Magazine. To see her quote, read the article here.
