This month, we’re excited to spotlight volunteer mentor Gabe! Gabe and his mentee, A, were matched last spring during Learn & Earn and quickly formed a close connection.
During this critical first year of their relationship, Gabe and A proved just how fun mentoring can be. One of the first times they hung out, A shared a new lightsaber they’d gotten and challenged Gabe to a friendly duel!
Suzannah Blass, the match’s program coordinator, had this to share about Gabe: “Gabe is a thoughtful, consistent, and reliable mentor who is always willing to put in work to be the best mentor possible for A. Despite living far away from his mentee, Gabe makes the extra effort to plan ahead and coordinate wonderful in-person visits. Gabe has been there to support A with anything they need and will follow their lead.”
Talk about being youth-centered! We can’t wait to hear how this match relationship grows as Gabe and A approach their one-year match anniversary in March.
