Life Skills Mentor Support older youth in learning life skills including employment skills and financial literacy in preparation for adulthood. Information Session

One year commitment from the time you are matched. Program starts with 12 weeks of attending weekly life skills workshops with your mentee (workshops are facilitated by SLM staff and are approx 2hrs each) followed by 9 months of community based mentoring in which you meet with your mentee 1:1 in the community. Minimum 8 hrs/month
Community Based Mentoring Become a long term volunteer mentor to a young person in foster care. Information Session

Minimum one year commitment from the time you are matched; minimum 8 hours/month
Rodman Ride for Kids (Silver Lining Spinners) Bike 25, 50, or 100 miles, or sign up as a “Virtual Rider” and raise funds to support our youth Register online and we will help you reach a minimum fundraising goal of $1500. Each donation is matched 6% by the Rodman Ride, so Silver Lining receives 106% of every dollar donated! This year the ride is on Saturday September 23th, 2017, and participants can fundraiser through November
Event Volunteer Help plan and/or execute events:
Match (May)
– Open House (fall)
– Bar Night fundraiser (ongoing)
Some simple training associated with certain events – Match Gala planning runs from January-June each year.
– Open House planning starts in the summer and goes through the fall.
– Bar Nights take place throughout the year and would need 1-2 months of planning

Rodman Ride for Kids
Attend an Information Session; build relationship with staff to help determine role within committee which best fits your skills, expertise & interest; restaurant and corporate connections as well as event planning experience preferred. -Match Gala planning runs from January-June each year
-Rodman Ride planning & fundraising runs from July-November each year
Host a Brown Bag Lunch, House Party, or Bar Night Fundraiser Host a Brown Bag Lunch at your workplace or a company you know; Host or help coordinate a house party or bar night to benefit Silver Lining. Attend an Information Session; build relationship with staff to determine logistics for advocacy event. -1-2 months of planning and execution
