On May 13, 2026, our community gathered at the Match Gala to raise vital funds, so youth in foster care have access to a consistent, caring adult.

Together, we celebrated the life-changing impact of mentors who show up, ensuring our young people are treated as human beings with bright futures.

Watch the video we featured at this year's event to learn about the profound impact of a consistent mentor.

Join the hundreds of guests who gave so generously at Match night to make a life-changing difference for youth in foster care.

Evening Highlights

A Heartfelt Welcome from Youth

Tamara, Janaya, and Alyssa speaking

The night began with heartfelt reflections from members of our Youth Leadership and Advocacy Council (YLAC). Tamara, Janaya, and Alyssa spoke beautifully about finding a community at Silver Lining where they truly belong, setting the tone for an evening centered on authentic connection.

"...I realized that there were people out there who wanted to show up for me - just because they cared." – Janaya

The Power of Two Award

Ayden and Shayne receiving the Power of Two award

This Match Gala, we were honored to present the Power of Two award to mentee Ayden and mentor Shayne. Their 2-year match exemplifies the consistency that changes lives. Shayne has been Ayden's steadfast advocate through every major milestone, proving that a dedicated adult can be the anchor a young person needs.

"Ayden, getting to know you over the past couple of years has been a true joy. You are an incredible person and I am grateful that we have each other." – Shayne

A Voice of Impact

Alyssa delivering her keynote speech

Later in the evening, mentee Alyssa delivered a powerful keynote speech. She reflected on her journey and the profound difference of having a consistent adult in her corner, noting, "I'm here tonight because someone chose to show up for me at a time when most people only showed up because they were obligated to."

"Silver Lining doesn't treat us like checkboxes. They treat us like human beings with futures worth investing in." – Alyssa
